Antigo Convento de São Francisco (Former Convent of Saint Francis)

The building that we can admire today and where the District Archives of Guarda currently operates, is the result of various reconstructions, mainly in the 16th and 17th centuries. Little of the original building still exists nowadays. Inside this architectural set one must highlight the church of the convent, whose original structure was greatly altered. There is also a closed courtyard and the cloister of the convent where one can admire a circular tank spring, with a column ended by an armillary sphere.
