Pousade is located on a small hill facing the valley where Ribeira das Cabras (stream) flows. With a strong religious tradition, Pousade celebrates the Easter period with thrilling theatrical performances involving the whole community.

Religious Patrimony: The Pousade parish church in honour of Santa Ana, is a modest but very beautiful church; the Chapel of São Sebastião (the name for the traditional summer festivities, which take place on the second Sunday of August) and the Chapel of the Divino Espírito Santo ( which serves as a mortuary chapel).The parish of Pousade is formed by five estates: Quintãs, Montes, Outeiro, Aldeia and Eirinha. There are Roman fountains in every farm.There is a large, ancient ash tree in the picnic park. ‘’Markets were an important social and economic event. Family and friends from other communities met there and it was at the markets that all transactions took place (...)
