Built in the 18th century, it is one of the city's most emblematic fountains. Inserted in the Baroque Style, among the sculptural elements we highlight the marine motifs, such as dolphins or monster-shaped spouts.

Late-baroque eclectic fountain with curved lines and verticalist composition using diagonals, where one can observe the shell and palmed motifs. Laces, rosettes and a certain tendency for linear ornate, more than volumetric, are added. The surrounding area and the urban lay-out accentuate its theatrical character. Considering the typical elements of the fountains, it features a centralized tank, marine figuration, particularly with regard to dolphins and scowls which frame the spouts. There is a coat of arms, as a shield wrapped in vegetable ornates and a helmet. Built in the 18th century, it was originally situated in a property in the parish of Vela (county of Guarda), belonging to family Refóios Saraiva.
