The chapel was built in the Middle Ages and the building is a provincial derivation of the Romanesque Style.

Having a modest dimension, its architectural structure is very simple, consisting of two contiguous bodies: a main chapel and a single nave, both of rectangular plant, united by a triumphal arc of pointed profile. One must highlight the columns that support this arc, whose capitals show plant-inspired motifs, depictions of birds, demons and a human figure. The figures that adorn the theory of dogs that, outside the chapel, underline the superior cornice of the two side walls of the chapel also stand out. Despite its simplicity, the Romanesque chapel is a typical example of the medieval era Portuguese religious architecture, in parishes and countryside. As everywhere, the roof is supported by a wooden structure and, in particular, the use of regular granitic blocks for the construction of the walls, which provides a beautiful and solid apparatus in which the typical access portals are torn.
