GuardaFolia - Carnival Festivities

During GuardaFolia, satire and humor run through the streets of the center of Guarda with a parade involving the parishes of the municipality all the way to Praça Luís de Camões (square next to the Cathedral) . Here is where the Rooster is judged. The event also includes FunRun, the Funniest Race of the Year, a "race" that will be carried out through the streets of the city, full of obstacles and good humour and where the only requirement for those taking part is to appear in a costume. This event, which combines sport and fun, has an urban route of around 5 km and participants can sign up alone or in groups, either walking or running. In "Tabernas do Entrudo", apart from "bucho", "morcela", "chouriça" (traditional sausage) and other delicacies that come with this season of revelry, the "Tabernas" also offer a lot of entertainment. The event takes place the weekend before Carnival.
