The starting place is the Dorna Fountain, near one of the main historic exits of the city of Guarda. We walk along an old cobbled road alongside the Diz River. This path used to connect the historic center of Guarda with the fertile Mondego Valley, passing nearby to Castro do Tintinolho, and then heading down to the natural path between the villages of Aldeia Viçosa and Rapa.
